Left early on the Thursday morning heading out to see the D Day beaches so on the way decided to go to the furtherest point and work our way back (a good way to rack up mileage maybe) - Honfleur here we come.
Honfleur is a quaint fishing village near La Havre in the North. Having parked in the (pay for) Carrefour car park as this is a premium in this packed seaside town. We meandered towards the water and enjoyed the sights and smells of this area. In the typical tourist fashion we took plenty of photos and eventually headed back to the car..only to find it extremely difficult to get out. After numerous conversations with the french lady (funny that) in the Carrefour (for those of you not familiar with France, Carrefour is similar to Foodtown/Asda) let me out as there were severalcars behind waiting (im)patiently.
We drove south towards Trouville and had lunch on the pier there (French Bread Rolls), walked around the delightful town and then jumped in the car (having got plenty of info from the Tourist Office) and drove on towards the northern coast and the D Day beaches.
Again... not many photos as I lost all mine (Vicki!!)
