POLSKI:
Nasi przyjechali o 7 rano, wiec mielismy wczesna pobudke. Rozmawialismy do drugiej w nocy.
ENGLISH:
Our people had arrived at 7 am, so we had to wake up early. We found them a hotel, right next to ours, where we negociated 12$ per person. At noon we checked-out our hotel (by the way they cheated on us, they didn`t say that we gave them too much cash) and we moved our stuff to the rest of our group. At 12:30 we were supposed to meet up with Goki, a Hospitality Club member, that was going to host us that following night. Goki is a medicine student and - just like every Turkish guy - fancies a blonde girl with blue eyes... When we were about to enter Hagia Sofia, I told him there would be 14 of us (instead of 4 as we`d planned), and I asked him if he wouldn`t mind to be a guide for all of us. He took us almost everywhere - to Bosporus, to the other side of the straits, to the French Street, inside of Hagia Sofia, for an apple tea, for a dinner etc. In the evening we went to see the bridge connecting Europe with Asia, and eventually we went to see a belly dance show and drink a Turkish beer. Goki has got a very Turkish mentality. I had to explain to him several times, that it`s not something we do in my country (at that moment he`d bite my arm), that it`s not relevant to my culture, and tell him to never try it again; or he`d say e.g. "don`t be so cold" because I didn`t want to put my hand under his arm, or especially hold his hand. I didn't want to be rude, because I could tell he was trying his best, so I`d be explaining to him my reactions one by one. He really did do so much for us - he was our guide, he`d shown a lot of patience (it`s not that easy to get 14 people together and guide them around such a huge city as Istanbul), and eventually e hosted 4 of us. He`d kick his 2 flat mates out of the flat in order so we could sleep there J . We`d been chatting till 2 in the morning. In general it was a really good day, we were really lucky that Goki had found me through HC website and wrote me exactly at that time when I was in Istanbul. It was our second day and we had one more left in that crazy city and country...
