ENGLISH:

Bali day second – finally! We modified the schedule we had gotten from our tour guide. We didn`t bother about markets, shops etc. We preferred an afternoon at a beach instead.
In the morning we went to see the biggest monument in Bali. It was terribly raining and I was afraid the rest of the day would be like that as well. When looking at the monument I thought it was pretty big and then I heard that it was just a part of it (a head as far as I remember) and the the other parts we could see in the surrounding area. The whole thing you could only see as a replica, located by the entrance. By the time we got off the place, the sun started shining through.
We went to see a Hindu temple next. To my disappointment, we couldn`t go in because… I was having my menstrual period! According to the religion, a woman having her menstruation is "unclean" and would bring the bad spirits with her when crossing a temple. Therefore we only saw the temple from the outside. I asked Kikie how did the guide know about my period – I reckon I didn`t have it written on my forehead? Kikie said she had told him herself… Here you can see another cultural diversity – due to her respect to Hinduism and in good spirits, Kikie shared something with the guide that to me would have not even crossed my mind to share. Frankly saying, I don`t think I would have told him even if I knew about me being “unclean” and the “bad karma”…
Then we drove to the beach. I was surprised to see the guide following us – I thought he was supposed to wait for us in the car, altogether with the driver, until we would come back. When we wanted to occupy some deck chairs, the “deckchair lady” asked us for a ridiculous price of 10$ (or even 20$?) per person. Obviously, we didn't agree for it. We went ahead (the guide still following us) and again the same situation. Then Kikie said something to the guide in their language, and as soon as he lef, the “deckchair lady” came off her price. I found out that our “wonderful” guide was trying to make a business on us, whispering a higher price to the lady`s ear, so that he could get a comission out of it. He was unlucky, as I may not understand what do the Balinese speak to each other, but Kikie certainly does! Thank to her we were not ripped off, but the situation spoiled our moods. We didn`t want to go to markets/shops where the guy would have gotten his commission out of our shopping, so he was trying to make that money in a different way? No way! That`s not the way we play, baby! Kikie, we annoyed, layed down in her lounger. I went for a swim. The water was as warm as a soup. Last time I experienced such warm ocean must have been somewhere in the Carribean – maybe in Antigua or St. Maarten? The waves were huge though, they`d cut you down to your knees, cover the whole human being in just 1 splash.
A little bit later on a “massage lady” came up to us and asked if we wanted a feet massage. I clearly refused. Kikie agreed to have one though, altogether with a peeling etc. First of all, I have reaaaally sensitive feet, any small touch would make me giggle. Second, I didn`t want to have a scrub done with the same pumice-stone as God-knows-how-many-people-before-me. Last but not least, I had enough of people trying to make a business out of me. I started to have an impression, that wherever the Balinese see BOOLE (white human), they want to rip him off. I must admit I had had such a good impression about the people from Bali by far. I used to work with many of them on the ships! After one massage lady there was another and then, when I refused again, another one appeared. They were quite pushy and irritating. Eventually I agreed – at Kikie`s instigation – to have just a feet massage (without the peeling! Yuck!). It was quite nice actually.
After the beach we were driven back to our hotel. We had prepared small tips for our driver as well as the guide. The last one actually got a little less that we had been planning before – it was our punishment for trying to make a business on us. Kikie said something to him in bahasa and he put his head down after that. Then, when we were back in our hotel room, she confessed me that she had told him what she thinks about his behaviour and that he shouldn`t have done it. After that reprimend she told me he didn`t have face to take the tip but eventually he did.
In the evening we went to a beach to watch a sunset. There were plenty of crabs on the stones – they looked quite funny actually. We took a nice walk on the way back to out hotel. Kikie was already asleep, while I was copying hunders of photos we had taken during that week.
I had a truly amazing time in Indonesia. I will never forget how much Kikie did for me, all the efforts she made. If, after that 6-months contract on the ship, I would have had that 1 week vacation in Indonesia only, that somehow would have been enough. I really got a good rest. Moreover, I almost forgot how hard I had been working for the past 6 months. It was great to see Kikie`s laughing face again. She`s such a wonderful person. I hope to see you in the near future again love – either in Indonesia or in Poland, or maybe even elswhere in the World. Thank you so so so much Kikie, come to visit me in Poland!

                                                              …

The following day I was supposed to spend mostly in the planes and at airports. But, as “at the end of things you will find the new beginnings”, at the end of that journey I was going to make one of my greatest dreams ever come true – I was going to AUSTRALIA baby!!!

POLSKI:

Bali dzien drugi - w koncu!
Zanim wyszlysmy z obiektu, zdazylo zaswiecic slonce.
Nastepnie pojechalysmy zobaczyc swiatynie hinduistyczna. I tu kolejna roznica kulturowa - z szacunku do hinduistow i w dobrej wierze, Kikie powiedziala przewodnikowi cos, czym mnie w zyciu nie przyszloby do glowy z sie nim dzielic.
W koncu Kikie powiedziala cos do przewodnika w ich jezyku i sobie poszedl, a "babcia lezakowa" zeszla z ceny o polowe.
Stanowczo odmowilam.
Spokojnym spacerem wrocilysmy do hotelu. Kikie juz spala, podczas gdy ja kopiowalam na dysk setki zdjec, jakie zrobilysmy w ciagu minionego tygodnia.
W Indonezji spedzilam cudowny czas. Dobrze tez bylo zobaczyc ponownie rozesmiana buzie Kiki. To taka cudowna istotka. Kiki, dziekuje i zapraszam do Polski!
                                                            ...
