POLSKI:
Wieczorem zaprowadzila nas do pubu, gdzie jedlismy greckie przekaski, popijajac piwem i rozmawiajac do poznych godzin nocnych. A rano mielismy wstac na pociag i udac sie w kierunku Macedonii...

ENGLISH:
The journey from Leptokaria took by train 1h10min, although the train was 40min delayed. In Thessaloniki we left our stuff in the lockers at the railway station there and went to do sighseeing around the city. We found Carefour supermarket on the way there and I had my first meal in 25 hours. What a wonderful feeling - being to enjoy the food and not wanting to throw up! It was terribly hot and humid out there too, thus we spent 1,5h drinking coffee at Starbucks nearby the White Tower. I mean, I was enjoying the aroma and taste of this magical beverage. For some reason Marcin does not drink coffee at all, which is a bit weird to me, considering the fact that he e.g. likes the smell of coffee (once we were walking nearby a café and M. said: "mmm, smells nice"). Interesting.
Thessaloniki has quite a lot of nice secession buildings, but they look like nobody takes care of them. Also, there are some ancient ruins in the city as well as byzantine churches (the only things that survived the huge fire that destroyed the city in 1914), but for some reason they were closed when we were there. Except for that, we saw the monument of Alexander the Macedonian too, which stands on his horse towards the most hated neighbor of Greece - Macedonia. A coincidence?
After 6pm we met up with Marta from Couchsurfing. What a girl she is! As a Polish from Canada living in Greece she already was an interesting person. But I also haven`t met such a straight-into-face and relaxed person and I haven`t laughed so hard in a while! In the evening she took us to a pub, where we were eating Greek food, drinking beer and chatting until the late hours of the night. In the morning we were supposed to get up for a train and head towards Macedonia...
