Upon arrival at the terminal, everyone had to show their passport to the airport officials. I had to wait four hours to get on 'other plane. The Ataturk Int'l Airport was not what I expected: luxury, filled w/ shops of infamy fashion designers, duty-free shops, & a variety of int'l peeps. Dat helped kill my time by strollin' & sightseein': lots of women in burqas, men in long dresses who looked like they are from Saudi Arab, men in turbans, and more Africans
Off to the next plane to Accura, Ghana...
A few hours later, an African lady who sat in front of me waved at me and gestured to look out of the plane window. She had 4 kiddos with her from ages of probably between 2 and 7. The kiddos were obviously restless. They hit each other and the mother slapped to stop 'em. I didn't blame 'em 'cos it wuz difficult for 'em to sit still all the way to Accra. So anyhow, I looked out of the window and guess what? Sahara Desert!!! I wuz in awe lookin' out for a while. The sight was magnificent and strikin'! So grand!!! It covers about one third of Africa. I wudda love to go to Morocco on vacation and ride camel in the desert. I thought about goin' there after Ghana but I was advised woman alone goin' there isn't a good idea since there are Muslim men who treat women differently. :-/
There was an interactive video of map where it showed the flight itinerary. Ya cudda see the picture of the plane goin' from Istanbul to Accra in arrow. Do ya see how vast the Sahara Desert?
The flight to Accra was not enjoyable as it wuz too hot. I cudda feel the cool air from the AC. It was weak n light. I fell asleep & woke up in some sweat. Pity me! What helped me endure the trip was the excitement to Ghana. Ya know, I learned not to accept things I wished for. Besides Texas weather had trained me well, eh! LOL! The plane was smaller and it was not filled up w/ passengers, so I had two seats out of 3 seats for myself where I stretched and spread my legs easily.
I didn't watch the flick but read 'Burn Down the Ground' by Kambri Crews from Kindle Fire. The author is CODA and her deaf parents were from Oklahoma but lived in Ft. Worth area. So far so good book. I downloaded several books in my KF for my trip. The dinner service was not bad. Just too much foods for me. And I had not gone to the john. Excuse me, if pleasant vacations had a devil, constipation would be it! :-/
