As we drove into Grand Isle the GPS said we were driving in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico.  That is what it felt like.  We were on Highway 1, water on both sides, whether it was a canal or marsh. It was creepy, I really feel like we are at the end of the earth ready to drop into the sea.  We arrived after a very long day so I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow and then taking a look around.

Jim was up early photographing the area and came back with these shots.  I'm still in kind of a sleepy haze. A sleepy humid haze.
