Where I stayed
Boulder Creek Restaurant
We started out the day realizing we had lost another hour and that we were running behind. Mary and I looked at the photo books I brought back with me of our 1979, 1998 & 2005 trips to New Ross. I also got to see the family genealogy that my cousin Becky has compiled. What she has done is amazing. Her book is full of pictures and stories of the Turpin Family.
Our lunch consisted of homemade noodles and chicken, garden potatoes, fresh corn and broccoli, followed by homemade Angel Food Cake!. I washed clothes and hung them on the line. No dryer in the house. Clothesline in basement or outside. My clothes are still hanging on the line and I think it rained while we were gone.
At 4:30 we left for Brownsburg to meet up with our cousins that were in town already. We had a great meal at the Boulder Creek Restaurant and visited until 8:30. Jim & Elaine Everett took Jim and I home after a brief tour of our Grandparents farm area and Aunt Elva's home, Bethesda Baptist Church, parts of the cemetery where Ben and Aunt Edna are now buried.
We had a great drive back to New Ross at sunset. I'm looking forward to the reunion tomorrow. Mary expects about 45 people and the forecast is for a hot, dry, sunny day.
Time for bed. Goodnight.
