It is 3:45 PM and we are just leaving Springfield. We started out this morning at 9:00 AM and have spent this entire day in the museum and walking Lincoln's neighborhood including a tour of his home when he received the news that he had been elected president.. His entire neighborhood is restored to be exactly as it was when Lincoln lived there. Wooden boardwalks, beautifully painted houses with flower gardens. I have many pictures to upload later.  The theaters inside the museum make you feel like you are apart of Lincoln's history with the use of sound effects and holographic people coming and going. It was an amazing day. We expect to be in New Ross about 7:00 PM tonight.  It will be good to stay in one place for a few days. Some of my relatives have already arrived from Pennsylvania and Michigan and maybe Wisconsin and Toronto.  I'm anxious to see everyone.

Wish I was there. Sounds so historic. Got my ticket tonight and picked 9 lbs of blue berries. So hot here. Have a good trip tomorrow.

Alright, as an avowed history nerd, I had to at least take a guess at the characters that you entitled "who's this?"...
Suited guy = John W. Booth?
General with red hair = Willian T. Sherman?

Hope you all are having tons of fun. The museum looks AMAZING. A little of an upgrade since I was there in the early 90s I might add!

This looks absolutely fascinating. This is my first time this summer to really sit down and read your blog and see your pictures. What a great trip!
