The Korowai.

The Korowai live in South Eastern lowland of Papua, Numbering approx 3,000. The majority of the Korowai clans live in tree houses ( up to 40 meters high ) to protect them from flooding and enemies. Each clan has a long house for communal ceremonies such as the preparation of sago. They are  hunter - gatherers and horticulturists who practice shifting cultivation. They are excellent hunters and fishermen. Men wear leaves and ironwood fruit to cover the penis and women wear grass skirt made from sago palm leaves..

The Kombai.

The Kombai also live in tree house dwellings. They live in the same area as the Korowai. They have similar cultural practices and they do interact although they speak different languages. Men wear horn bill beaks as a penis gourd and women wear grass skirt made from sago palm leaves.

The climate of this area are, humid, swamp and dense jungle. The Korowai and the Kombai are the great tree house maker and they are the great hunter.
