It was finally dry. I was dry. This is a good thing.
Maintained the motorbikes. Put a Throttlemeister on Grady's bike and were on our way. Nice morning with not much a ride ahead of us. The ride was fine and had some awesome changes in scenary. There were huge lava flows in the Dechutes National Forest. We took some good pics after we climbed to the top of one of them. Also took some pictures in the middle of the road with our bikes on the center line. There was no one around. It smelled good.
I now can't remember what a day at work is like!
Passed Mt. Bachelor and ventured into Bend - our destination. Athletic women riding bikes, cool Tahoe feel. I like this place. At some lunch at a place called Baldy's BBQ.
No good places to camp so we got a cheap Motel and finally took a shower. Opened up our wet bags to dry everything out. Grady and I ventured into town to check out the feel of the place. Grabbed a beer at Dechutes and walked the town. Ate Mexican food and watched the sun go down.
The bed was a good thing. While the feel of the town is cool, it is also full of big loud trucks, white bread people, and it is dead after hours. I guess you can't have everything.
My memory of this place will be that the waitress at Baldy's was cute, and my room smelled like the worst foot funk imaginable.
