Bit of a later start this morning. On the tour bus for a half day trip to the Hermitage again but this time to primarily visit the Gold Room. Happy to report that after the rain on Sunday yesterday was dry and today quite sunny though breezy.

We arrived at the Hermitage just after 9 and we were able to go in as part of a tour. Individuals are allowed in from 10:30. This was excellent for it was much more comfortable. We were taken almost immediately to the Gold Room. To say this is spectacular would be an understatement. As well as copious amounts of gold the jewellery collected by Catherine the Great was on display. Diamonds sparkled everywhere. There were pieces by Faberge but no eggs. Security was low key but no photos were allowed to be taken.

We then saw more of the Hermitage some of which we had seen on Sunday but as it was less crowded, much more comfortable.

On our way back to the ship yet another highlight. We drove past Zenit St Petersburg's stadium. As always useful to know where these stadiums are for when Leicester are in the Champions League.

Back to the ship for lunch followed by a trip to the bridge where we were shown how the ship works with the radar etc.

Anyhow as I write this we are preparing to leave St Petersburg and travel overnight to Tallinn where a full inspection of bed spreads will take place!
