So after the balcony incident I had been pretty much bed ridden with a few painful trips to the kitchen being the extent of my activity. Sunday I managed to make it into Banff to collect our car for the road trip to the USA.

The car was a Dodge Journey and it was a total beast, mega comfortable which for my state at the time was a big deal! A few pre-trip supplies were needed and then we drove the aptly named "Spartacus" back to west to get it packed and ready to roll early doors on Monday.

We set off on Monday at about 6am full of Coffee stolen from the lodge (take that Sandy!). The Road trip was an epic one crossing 2 Canadian provinces, 3 American States and spanning 1,216Km (which is a little shy of the length of Britain). The journey took us about 15 hours and some of the highlights included Mountain roads through BC as the sun was rising, Taco Bell in Idaho and the high deserts of Oregon leading up to the town of Bend. Oh and Bonner's Ferry of course.

One of the other highlights was the driver not noticing the fuel gauge was at empty while we were in said desert and the resulting nervous 26miles of coasting to the next town with Gas stations. Every slight climb was meet with held breath and every downhill slope was like a new breath of life into Spartacus. Finally we made it to Madras which seemed to be full of Gas stations and for 20 minutes 4 wildly celebrating British lads. Next time I'm at East India I'm having a Madras.

We made it to our resort at about 9pm and the room was incredible with one master Bedroom, a well stocked Kitchen (Complete with life saving Coffee machine), Balcony, Flat screen TVs in each room and two more beds on an upstairs mezzanine. Jackson had tweeted about the resort before our arrival and waiting for us in the kitchen was a personal letter thanking him and a free six-pact of beer much to our joy.

The snow at Mount Bachelor was epic with the resort having 37" over the three days we were there, sadly because of my back I only managed three runs all holiday and frustrated I conceded that I was still a few days off of recovery.

The rest of the trip for me was relaxing, drinking and making ample use of the hot tub on the resort, managed a little nature walk along the river on the Wednesday but was otherwise staying in the room.

We travelled back to West Louise Lodge on Thursday but stopped off in Spokane for the night as the rest of the guys had been riding during the day, Stayed in a Days Inn which was ok but had free breakfast which was awesome.
