I haven't mentioned anything about the weather before now, mostly because there hasn't been a lot to write about. Basically it's been perfect for holiday making: warm and sunny, but not too hot. That all changed today. It was cold, wet and windy. But, as luck would have it, we were spending most of today traveling to Las Vegas (about 5 hours of driving).
On the way we visited the Calico Ghost Town. It's not really a ghost town any more. It was an abandoned mining town from the Wild West days that has been developed as a Sovereign Hill-like tourist attraction. But it was interesting enough and a good break on our trip. The weather was appropriate while we were there. The rain had stopped, but it was windy and cold.

We're on track for our hottest April ever. We had 4 consecutive days of 27+, the longest such stretch ever this far into Autumn. It was 30.1 on Thursday, the hottest April 22 on record. Have you seen the massive news about the Melbourne Storm? When will you hit Las Vegas?
Wow, Byron said it had been warm. It's fined up here again. We arrived in Vegas the evening of this day. We're staying the same place Paul did.
I've been looking at The Age web site most days - Pascal will be devistated.
you made a typo... "One the way we visited the Calico Ghost Town" .. i think you ment "On the way we visited the Calico Ghost Town"
Indeed (I've fixed it).
