Where I stayed
Tunco Lodge

So after splitting from the group (who were all headed to Nicaragua), and not wanting to miss out on the awesomeness that I hear is El Salvador, I ventured by myself to Playa El Tunco.  I played the safe card and took the expensive luxury bus to San Salvador because it was the only one that left super early in the morning in order for me to aviod being caught anywheres I didnīt want to be at night.  So $44 later, which in NA is supa cheap, but in backpacker terms very much exeeds the budget; I was on my way to Sanny on a King Quality bus that included reclining seats, movies, air con, food, cookies, pop, coffee, juice, music, bathrooms on board, blanket, pillow, the whole nine yards!  Synonymous with my movie theatre experience in Thailand but this time on a bus!

The lodge that I stayed at was more than wonderful!  Gorgeous little swimming pool, several kitchen (quite well stocked including a grill!), free internet cafe, couple common areas with, yes, a COUPLE of TVS and movies, book exchange where I got my book that Iīm reading now that I literally canīt put down (and the best part is that its seemingly lasting forever! love it when that happens...) and a funny red parrot!  Oh ya, and did I mention I was sitting by the pool and I hear clicks on the ground of an animal coming up behind me, thinking it was a dog, I just about knocked myself back into the pool in a hilarious state of shock that it was a dear! Just chillin, cruzin around the hostel...WTF?! I didnīt know they even HAD dear here, like where in the heck did that thing come from anyways!

Altho thanks to the whitewater rafting trip prior to coming here where I injured my ankle, I wonīt be surfing here...which is fine with me because at the moment the surf is HUGE! yikes!  A little much perhaps for my beginner talents...

In any case, Playa el Tunco, was a great little social scene of relaxed sun and surfer culture!  One of the those places that you stay at for a long time and think, man, what DID I do there?  Was great fun...
