The train ride was once again spectacular, we really made the right decision to travel by rail. Arrived in Salzburg to cool weather but unfortunately no snow ( to mares disgust).

Had a beautiful sunny day when we walked up to the fortress, and had a delicious lunch up there with views of the alps. Was scared by some very strange creatures at the xmas markets (refer photo) and one even picked me up and spun me around (was disappointed that mare didnt come to my defence - wuss! lol)

Was rainy after that but still enjoyed wondering the streets ( with mares commentary about maria etc with the sound of music sights on every corner!).
