Caught the train from Luzern to Munich and were met at the station by our host for the stay. Stayed with Rob and Oana - they're currently living and working in Munich.

Had 4 nights here. Its a big city thats very fashion and status minded. We certainly stood out as backpackers!

Day tripped to Regensberg where we experienced "Dumfnudel" - dessert dumplings with the best vanilla custard. Is a specialty of the town.

Christmas markets began yesterday so that was fun and we then went out to dinner for traditional Bavarian food - pork knuckle and dumplings for Shellie and roast pork and dumplings for me! Went into a massive traditional beer hall and listened to the oompa band but it was too packed and no tables anywhere.

Was great to stay with friends! Were able to have a conversation in english longer than 3 words!
