Had a hassel free trip to the airport and flight to Copenhagen. Arrived in the airport and it was a little overwhelming seeing signs everywhere but not being able to understand them! we really were like sheep following those in front! Saw the funniest thing in the airport...a glass cubicle about the size of a public toilet for smokers, they were packed in like sardines all desperate for their puff on a fag.

Successfully navigated our way via the train system to our hotel - right in the centre of town too which was great. To our surprise the hotel was quite fancy and we really stood out as dirty backpackers!! We also unfortunately discovered they charged a LOT for laundry .. *sigh*

Visited Princess Mary's palace for the changing of the guard which was fun. Walked and walked and walked taking in all the city highlights including the statue of The Little Mermaid, which is highly overrated!! (statue made as the original story was by Hans Christian Anderson).

Wasn't as cold as we had expected. 7 degrees at its coldest while we were there (may have been colder while we were curled up in blankets asleep!!), did however sprinkle alot. They resorted to fake snow for a ski/snow board exhibition in the town square! Another 4 weeks or so and there'd probably have been real snow.

One thing that really stood out was the amount of bikes, they were everywhere, thousands of them. They even have their own proper lanes on all the roads and their own bike lights at intersections!!!

Was surprised by how many people spoke english, and so well! you couldnt tell if english was there first or 2nd language!! made us feel bad for having no idea how to speak their language!

Validated our Eurail pass and started the train travel chunk of our trip ... headed off from Copenhagen to Berlin by train.

Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen!
Hi guys, thanks for the wonderful travelogue, it looks like you've been very busy, and have a fantastic time! Good on you.

We hope all security concerns are under control and that you've been able to get a decent night sleep even with your back packs on! ;-)

Looking forward to more updates and will stay in touch about a possible rendezvous over there.

Have fun, thinking of you, lots of love, Neaty and Petey.
