After my last diary entry we were all knackered and had a bit of ciesta. Woke up and no one really felt like going out so we grabbed some Thai tucker and went back to the digs for a quiet one. That lasted till about 10, Lee was in no fit state to go out as by this point he'd been suffering from the runs for 3 days in a row. So me and Pea headed out for a cheeky couple in an Irish bar and shot some pool. We were in a sociable mood for some reason, got talking to another group of travellers and were in bed by midnight as we had to be ready early in the morning for the day trip to Ko Phi Phi.

We were picked up by a ghostbuster style taxi and were taken down to the local h arbour to board our speed boat. As per usual as soon as we got on the boat the heavens opened and for the next hour it pissed it down. The boat was flying along crashing over the waves and there was no possible way that anyone on the boat was going to remain dry. As we got to our first stop(Bamboo Island) the rain was starting to hold off a bit. The boat backed onto the beach and with Pea been Pea he decided to jump off first completely miss judging the depth of the water and was up to his armpits in sea water and then suddenly realised that the daft geordie had his camera in his pocket. Within 5 minutes of been on the beach it started to rain again, so we headed for some shelter and were all getting pissed of by the experience and just wanted to be back in the hotel. The rain cleared again and we boarded the boat where we were shown some sort of viking cave but with the tour guide speaking bugger all English it was hard to understand what was going on and just went along with it. The next stop was Maya Bay on the island of Ko Phi Phi Leh, which for those who don't know is where the beach was filmed. This was one of the only reasons we went on the trip but could only get 50 metres from the beach because the surf made it too difficult to get any closer.

We stopped at a few more places until we got to the larger of the two islands Ko Phi Phi Don and stopped for a bit of snorkelling, which I thought was a lot more impressive than what we had seen in Oz. We then got dropped off on the beach to receive our buffet style free lunch, which was also the last stop of the day. Just before we left it started to rain again but this time the rain turned into a monsoon and because the stupid shop had run out of plastic macs, it meant that I had to wear a life jacket to keep warm and a bin bag over the top of me to try and stay dry. After another hour of hell on the boat we were back at the harbour and made our way back to the hotel. We had another quiet one that night as we had to get our bus the following morning to Phuket.

The bus failed to show in the morning and after a word with the hotel manager we persuaded him to phone up the tour company and sort something out. In the end they laid on a taxi for us and we just made it to Krabi town centre in time for our minibus to Patong, which is the biggest resort on the island of Phuket. For once on our travels we thought that we'd avoided been scammed but after 3 hours on the bus the driver decided to stop at his friends travel agents to try and get us to book a hotel through them. We walked out the travel agents and waited on the bus untill he took us to Patong. We got accommadation quickly as Lee had stayed here befor and knew somewhere to stay. We made our way to the C + N hotel and all booked our own rooms. Its worked out at 8 quid a night and is up there with the best hotels I've stayed in. All the way on the drive to phuket it had been a really hot day but with our shit luck within 5 minutes of checking into the hotel it proceeded to piss down once again.

We headed out that evening and was impressed by the local nightlife. We all know a few thai phrases now and whenever you start getting dragged into a bar if you say something in Thai they don't know how to take you as Thai people will do anything to avoid confrontation and leave you alone. Pea decided it would be a good idea to start picking them up when they hassled us and then dump them in another bar. The last few nights have all been pretty much the same. I would go into more detail but am suffering from a small dose of food poisoning and need to be near my room.

One more thing, Laura from Madingley Hall keeps hasseling me to give her a mention on this so I'm doing it just to get her off my back. Laura, you need to lay off the emails. Your boyfriend is one of my best mates and imagine how he'd feel if he knew what you were saying to me! I can understand how you can feel so emotinally attached to me but its all in your head and you need to move on.

Also, I have still been snapping away but me camera leads decided to pack up and i can't get hold of a new one where I am now so you'll have to wait until I get back to Bangkok.
