we are off Hi to all blowit followers, two days in to it slow but steady progress we made it in to Skipton first day, a few minor hitches jobs worth lock keepers and poorly maintained swing bridges ect but never the less we made the time slot for first day.Set out of Skipton 10:00 in beautiful sun shine and had a steady run up through Gargrave and Bank newton, Heather is not finding it easy to operate the lock but I'm confident she will pick it up, will try to add some photos soon, looking forward to day three
day three We woke early this beautiful morning, after a walk with the dog and a good breakfast we set away and believe it or not Heather steered the boat, for more than thirty seconds in fact she steered for a good couple of miles. We arrived at greaberfield locks 09:30 only three chambers so it did not take long then we decided to moor at the top and have a lazy day ha ha a bit of brass polishing an general maintenance an enjoy the sun.Unfortuatly this is old ground to me so I cannot be too enthusiastic will try harder in a few days time to put some photos on
Photo's Wish you'd take these ****** photo's Howie, get your finger out !!!!! Its not like you've got anything else to do !!!! Lucky ****** enjoy Barbara & Geoff xxx
safe journey Hi sounds like its heaven take care and enjoy the trip lots of love elaine
day four & five Hi day four left Greeaber field locks 9:30 bound for readily weather good and no problems until Barrowrford lock then disaster struck or should i say we struck a lock gate of some unushawal construction and it caused damage to the gas vent, but all is well under repair at the moment. We hope to set off on Saturday lunch for Blackburn not looking forward to that ha ha

empty space Hi Howard and Heather
good to hear you enjoying yourself. I have opened my blinds and just see an empty space. Julie looking forward to your return !!!! - no pressure there then.
Bridge-water canal Hi down on the Bridge-water canal with D & J on board Oggley, tomorrow we set off to Llangollen, left Dover lock approx 10:30 heading for Leigh through plank lane bridge stopped off for supplies in Leigh. The top end of the Bridge-water is not now very scenic but I can imagine fifty or sixty years ago it would of been quite a different story coal mines and all sort of industry struggling with photos at the moment but working on it
Re: empty space The space will not be empty for long and I don't do pressure
not just yet anyway
on the Llangollen Hi to all yes we made it we are on the second day of the Llangollen and very nice it is too, Its slow and steady all the locks are single chambers and they are lots of hire boats,so we find our selves waiting in ques, but Heather is finding the work a lot easier now.Andy,Chris and Natt have been traveling with use since Saturday that also as made it a lot easier and enjoyable. the weather as been a bit hit and miss next port of call is Grinley brook, six more locks then its all most clear to Chirk then its the first of the big aqueducs. Thanks for all your good wishes and I'm sorry for the lack of photos technology as got the better of me for the moment
