Another 5am wake up this morning. This time to catch our transfer to catch the Superjet 2 ferry from Athens port for a 6 hr ferry ride to the greek island of Amorgos. The ferry stopped at 3 other islands before reaching Amorgos going through some pretty big swirl. It was best to keep the blinds shut and try get as much sleep as possible. Mish and Dan took some travel calmers which worked a treat. The water is a rich deep blue and as we stop into each port along the way we realise how deep it must be when sizing up the ships docking. J saying his catch phrase "it looks fishy in there" at each port.

We finally arrive at Amorgos at 1:30pm after a fairly rough ferry ride. We got to take in some of the other islands as we cruised past them en route. We met with our hotel transfer and went for some sort of rally drive thru the hills for about 40min to get to our hotel. It was a pretty scary drive with sheer cliffs and no barricades to stop you going over the edge! Amorgos is laced with some very savage terrain, steep mountain roads which are narrow and winding thru small white villages.

Once we get to Lakki village, you can immediately tell everyone is in a different gear. This place is relaxation. No one is in a hurry.... to do anything, but that's just how it is here. Will take us a little while to slip into this slower sleepy mode.

We have already sampled some great greek foods at our resort's restaurant while sitting practically on the beach for lunch taking it all in. We continued to explore the culinary platter at a restaurant in town for dinner. By in town we mean a 10minute stroll up the beach. There are lots of funky beach style bars and restaurants scattered along the foreshore. This place is truly beautiful.

We retire for the night into our quaint greek bungalow.
