Day 85:

Today is the day of my roommate Taylor's snorkel test. Let me just briefly explain what this is; so as you can guess it involves a snorkel and a mask. At the end of the dive master program it is apparently tradition that the newly certified dive master does a snorkel test. Basically you attach some kind of funnel to the top of your snorkel which itself is attached to your mask. You then put them on, put the snorkel in your mouth and then alcohol is poured down the funnel, into your snorkel and well you get the drift. I also have to do this by the way but it's not quite my time yet...

I was unfortunately closing tonight so I had to go straight from work to coconutz and sat by myself like a loner while I waited for everyone to show up. Wonderfully we were also given happy hour prices for our group all night $1.40 for a margarita, I'm not exactly complaining. Taylor had come super prepared with a tshirt with a load of snorkel test slogans on it as well as her funnel aka a litre bottle attached to her snorkel. Both mark, her instructor, and Taylor gave little speeches and Mark had to demonstrate what to do whilst someone poured one beer into the funnel. Tom took the opportunity to pour vodka down it at the same time. Then Taylor was up. She started off by doing a shot before even doing her funnel, what a pro. Everyone had bought some drinks to go in her snorkel and she actually did pretty well until she asked them to stop and they just kept pouring. Remember you can't breathe guys!

I think she was fairly drunk by the end of this and then people ended up playing beer pong. At one point, as I've never played before and they were setting up for a new game, I wanted to give the throwing a try. As I was getting ready to do it Taylor joked that she hoped I wasn't as bad at beer long as I am at pool an then wham, my ball went right into their cup. Victory! Maybe it was a lucky shot but it was still pretty impressive! After a while beer pong got pretty boring for people to watch after a while so I suggested we play flip cup which is more of a team game. I've only ever played it once in Nicaragua but it's pretty fun. My team also won last time and once again, champions! I was very happy.

After this I think Taylor realised that she was now pretty drunk so she headed home. Everyone kind of dwindled off after this so I headed home too. Then randomly at 4am I woke up and then 5 minutes later it started pouring down with rain, I'd forgotten how nice it was to sleep to the rain and with a tin roof it's even nicer. Yay for rain!

Day 86:

I really waste potential hangover days off because I'm rarely hungover on my days off, like today. But today was at least productive. I got up and Tabby and I went for a much needed pedicure. After all of the salt water, heat and dust my feet definitely need a treat.

After the pedicure Tabby and I ran a couple of errands in the boiling heat. Usually it's hot here but man after the rain last night it's so humid you could actually cut it with a knife. We were meant to go to the beach but as Tabby has work at 4pm there wasn't much point. As soon as we got back Tabby and I jumped straight into the pool to cool off, unfortunately my pool is currently the temperature of a hot bath so it didn't exactly do the job.

We managed to get Taylor out of her hangover bed to come chill round the pool with us till Tabs went to work and we literally melted at the poolside!
