Thankfully we have some new volunteers coming today which means we might actually get some proper breaks and finish at a reasonable time. Logically anyway.

It was raining loads this morning and the two toed sloths really hate the rain.sg It makes them eat more, scratch more, poo & wee more and basically makes them go mental. Even the calm sloths get worked up. This is usually the time when people get bitten as well, not because the sloths are mean but they're so stressed out they don't know what to do with themselves. Luckily no one did get bitten but my sloths were definitely going a bit insane and I had to be careful around a few. Also trying to put medicine on sloths whilst they're racing around does not make my job any easier! Thankfully I was rewarded by Dusty's crunchy french toast for breakfast which I added nutella and banana to, YUM.

Got to look after Sylvana and Matthew simultaneously today, so got to carry them round together during baby time which is always fun! By the time we got to barros we still hadn't moved to the volunteer house and we knew the volunteers would arrive soon. We eventually saw them pull up and had to rush off to find maylin and literally ran over there giggling like children and hiding so we could steal the best bedrooms. Literally a minute after we had an Australian couple rocked up so we got there just in time! The other volunteer, Daniella, arrived a bit later. At first I thought she might be the type of volunteer that had resulted in us having curfews and no drinking rules but she actually seems pretty nice and I think she'll be good.

I asked Ursula if she could find out when Judy wanted me to leave and I heard her say, "whenever she needs to go," I was like, ah don't tell me that, I'll never go! Although to be fair I'm pretty knackered at the moment and could actually do with a day off. All of this lack of volunteers plus loads of awesome but extra responsibilities is very tiring! Also it was a bit confusing today because Claire would tell me how to do things one way and them Dusty would tell me to do it another way. I was like, arg! Which is right!

I'm intrigued to see how the Australian couple turn out, the girl, Kym, took FOREVER to do her section. As in we were making piles of barros by the time she finished and I had done medicine, washed plates and helped out in other sections by this point. The guy, Gavin, managed to let Rajah, a sloth from section 5, into Cheyanne and Arthurs cage. Rajah was super worked up from being in with two other sloths and all of the construction noise, he was literally foaming at the mouth (not rabies but sloths when they get worked up have this white liquid come out there nose, eyes mouth etc!). Claire was stuck in there trying to sort it out so I got in to help her by distracting Rajah while she tried to get Cheyanne and Arthur out, who were also going mental. It's a miracle no one got bitten to be fair. Ah sloth drama, I swear you could make a tv show.

After all the drama we didn't finish till 4:30! I thought extra people meant finishing at a better time? We decided to watch a film tonight as it was Stephen's (Judy's grandson) 10th birthday, he loves horror so we ended up watching 'The Thing' (new one).
