Where I stayed
Tried to find some signal on my iPhone but I'm having no luck, not that anyone will text me anyway! As soon as I started today I went and checked on Pip and Zoey, Pip's eye looks awful and she keeps scratching it which is literally painful to watch. Poor babies. So glad the vet is coming today!
Despite the fact they had a day off yesterday, Bettina and Jans were late this morning by like half an hour. They were late after the break too, apparently there alarm clock isn't working but they're always slightly late. I thought Germans were meant to be on time!
Attempted to get signal on my phone again by literally leaving the compound and waking down the road. Still didn't work. I give up. I had Velcro for baby exercise today, although two fingered babies are soooo soft and I love most of my two fingered section I do prefer the three fingered, they are so good natured and calm. Two fingered are definitely more feisty.
After lunch the vet had seen Zoey and Pip. I came back to find Zoey had the side of her head shaved. I could see how bad her sore was now, it looks absolutely horrendous. I spoke to the vet and he's given me some medicine to give them twice a day. That's right I have to give sloths medicine. Thank god Zoey and Pip are pretty chilled as I have to rub cream into Zoey's sore and put eye drops in Pip's eyes. Eye drops are hard enough to administer as it is, imagine doing it on a live sloth climbing everywhere. Managed to get it right in though! They were so good as well so I snuck them in a hibiscus flower each (sloth treats).
Worked out that snoozing after work is making me feel much worse, need to stop that! One upside of the cold is I can't taste the milk so managed to have a bowl of cornflakes for dinner, score. Instead of spider rehabilitation tonight I'm doing cockroaches instead. Seriously Hannah you would again be proud of me because I found and caught it without screaming. I'm a new woman I tell you!
Might be off to Puerto Viejio tomorrow to meet up with some people I met in Nicaragua. It will mean a day away from my sloths, I actually feel like they're my responsibility now and I don't want to abandon them! Feels like leaving a baby with a baby sitter for the first time!
