Ah 4:30am, a wonderful time to be waking when you got to be at midnight. Got in a taxi, stressing that I needed to go to an ATM, did he listen...nooooo. So I ended up at the bus station minus cash, never mind.

Got on the bus and surprise, surprise my window seat had been stolen again! Decided to take revenge by choking her with insect repellent and taking up as much space as possible. Managed to sleep for quite a while before it got baking on the bus, as there was no air conditioning and most of the windows weren't open. Did my seat stealer open (my) window, no! Thankfully she got off in Limon so I shoved the window open immediately!

We actually drove past the sanctuary on the bus, pretty exciting! Got to Cahuita and managed to get a new earring, had to repierce it though, ouch. Decided to nab some stamps while I was here as I keep forgetting to post stuff. Costa Rica has the worse stamps EVER. Post boxes, seriously. So rubbish.

After a frappucino (woo) I got on the bus to the sanctuary. So excited to see some sloths, I even did a little happy sloth dance when I got into the compound whilst singing "I'm gonna see some sloths". Cool I know.

Had an intro with Dusty, one of the workers here, who showed me around and I met the girl I would be staying with, Yvette. After lunch Linda, another volunteer arrived and we went on a tour that normal tourists go on as an introduction to sloths, the sanctuary etc. We then helped to feed the sloths that would be in our section while we were here. I have section 2 which are all two toed sloths, looking forward to getting to know them all. At the moment they all look pretty much the same and there are lots of names!

Linda is a bit older, maybe nearing 60. Yvette had insinuated that she might want to change beds, I had a double to myself, and I was really hesitant to give it up for a bunk bed! Luckily Yvette swapped with her, problem SOLVED!

We used the big projector that they use for the sloth presentation for tourists (with the super awesome sloth song), to have a movie night. So that was pretty cool, although the chairs are totally uncomfortable and there was no popcorn. The horror!

Can't believe I've been up since 4:30am, don't know how I'm still going. Must be all the excitement. First official day tomorrow, looking forward to holding some sloths!
