So my day did not start off so great. I arrived, early thankfully, at the airport to discover that I needed to get a visa online for America. Last time I went to the US we just filled in some cards so I obviously didn't realise this was now the case. When ringing opodo, who I booked with, to give them my details for the airlines (3 times) they never mentioned that I needed to do this. Thanks guys!

I therefore had to run upstairs and pay to use the Internet to sort it out, thank god you can do it instantly. I also had to pay $14 for the pleasure of my visa for my two hours on American soil. Awesome. At least it lasts two years so I don't have to pay again on my way back. Silver lining and all that.

I then got in the slowest queue to sort my luggage out, clearly gonna be one of those days. Thankfully it got better when I found 'Eat' does nutella and banana toasties: SOLD!

Then i realised I hadnt packed my amazing new travel pillow that I was genuinely excited to use. DEVASTATED!!!! hopefully gonna get my mum to post it or I will cry.

Im flying with American Airlines. These are some things i discovered on my first flight, only to realise later that theyre much shitter than I thought. Although that was partly American airports in generals fault.

Things I dislike about American airlines:
Tiny tv screens-Etihad you have spoiled me
Pretty rubbish entertainment programme-10 movies, seriously?
When I ask if you have any herbal teas don't sarcastically say to me: 'yeah it's called liptons' - dick

Things I like:
You can actually watch the movies during take off and landing, woop
Grey goose vodka, 1 litre for $35. You will be mine on the way home ;)
The food was good

Then miami airport, dear god. So you all know how I hate running: I got to the airport and was like oh I have PLENTY (2 hours) of time, I'm gonna have a coffee and chill. No, no. First I had to queue at immigration, even though I was fast-passed it took forever as you have to do anal things like fingerprints. Then American airlines don't transfer your bag (Why?! That is a fucking joke) so I had to go and find it. The luggage belt kept stopping for ages because it was too full and yet there were no staff taking the bags off. Mine still hadn't come out and I eventually found it buried under some other bags off the belt. Oh and then I have to queue at customs. How ridiculous is this! At the start of the customs queue I only 45 minutes till my flight left and I'm no where near boarding. What a fucking joke. All of the airport staff were ridiculously unhelpful and when i said to one guy was there anyway I could jump the queue as I was going to miss my flight, he told me no and that he basically didn't give a shit. Thanks mate. Please remind me to NEVER transfer through America again. And fuck you AA for not transferring my luggage, what kind of backwards airline are you running? So screw you I stole a pillow. I'll take any revenge I can get.

Finally arrived in Cancun and I don't think I'm going to have to worry about getting kidnapped anymore, it's so hot that I'm going to look perpetually disgusting! Eventually got to the hostel and discovered they had no record of my booking and I was lucky because they actually had one bed left. Can you imagine if I'd got here and it was full? I probably would have murdered someone. Too tired to talk to people so dinner, bed and then beach tomorrow :)
