Pretty much everyone has told me I am a mental patient for going to Central America, and especially for going to Central America on my own. My parents are pretty much freaking out - they freaked out about me going to Asia aka one of the safest places for women to travel. I'm fairly certain that my dad is going to chain me to my radiator to stop me going.

To be honest I'm also a tad nervous about going, I think it's probably because I am going on my own, although even if I was going with someone else I doubt I would be that much safer. Hannah (M) has also freaked me out quite a bit and I now find myself researching what to do if I get kidnapped on google. I not only have to contend with the possibility of getting kidnapped, killed, mugged etc but I also have to worry about earthquakes, active volcanoes and oh, I'm going in hurricane season.
Am I mad?

So my plan (without shaving off all/dyeing my hair) is 1. to look as hideous as possible at all times, no one wants to kidnap an ugly person 2. find a group of, preferably rugby sized men, and make them escort me everywhere 3. AVOID like the plague any horrendous places like Guatemala City 4. Buy pepper spray/a taser and 5. Generally don't be an absolute retard and wander around streets at night, alone and other non-sensible things. As I often said to Hannah (T) I don't want to be a travelling statistic, and I plan to keep it that way!

There are however lots of other things I am looking forward to, including said active volcanoes. I am also volunteering for two weeks at a sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica which I'm fairly certain will be epic. So yeah, follow my, I'm sure ridiculous adventures, send me your addresses for postcards and wish me luck! EEEHHH!
