We drove all day to get near to the coast.  We travelled into port town of Antofagasta the and thankfully drove out again.  The area is know for it copper mines and supplies much of the worlds copper.  We then travelled to the Hand in the Desert and made camp some 500m away.  Took some photos of this hand but a good gimic to get people to stop.
