First I must make a correction.  The people in Madrid seemed a bit arrogant.  The people in the south of Spain are generally warm and friendly.

La Villa Marbella Hotel is quaint; charming and comfortable.  The four of us actually stayed in an apartment.  You entered into a living room.  The second floor was Randy's and my room.  It had a large bedroom, bathroom and a small sitting area.  The entire third floor was Steve and Nikki's room. It had combination sitting room and bedroom, bathroom and outdoor courtyard.  Each morning we would have breakfast on the veranda of the main building:

Our first full day we went to Gibralter.  This small little area is actually British.  We went into a cave and viewed the stalactites and stalagmites (sorry I don't know the correct spelling).  We also took several pictures of the Barbary apes that reside on Gibralter.  There is a long standing joke that the British will turn over Gibralter to the Spanish when the apes grow tails.  Nikki had some crackers in her purse that she was going to use to tempt the apes into posing for pictures.  As soon as she pulled them out of her purse an ape came flying at her; grabbed the crackers and jumped onto a rock.  He quickly opened the package and stuffed two crackers in his mouth.

After the tour we stopped at a restaurant that was recommended to have the best fish and chips.  I immediately insulted the waitress by asking if they had iced tea.  "NO" she abruptly said.  So I asked for hot tea and a large glass of ice and made my own.  When I later asked for more ice she just shook her head and begrudgingly brought the ice to me. We Americans are ice-challenged over here.

Our last night in Marbella we found an awesome, authentic tapas restaurant.  We all agreed we wished we had found it earlier in the week

Friday morning Nikki and Steve left for the bus station to go to Sevilla and Randy and I went to the port to take the ferry to Morroco.  Steve and Nikki will spend one night in Sevilla and fly home from there. Randy and I will be spending 5 days in Morocco.

It's funny that this is the first trip where we have been sooooo busy we have not had time to shop for the usual souveniers.  I do have hundreds of pictures though so as soon as I can access another computer where I can send them to you I will do so.

Adios.  XOXOXOX
