I wish we had a three day weekend sometime in here!  It is a lot of weeks in a row for the kids and me to not have any short weeks.  It's a little scary I'm feeling this way already and we still have 6 more full weeks before a break.

Thursday was Sports Day for the elementary students.  All the students from 1-5 from both campuses got together to play games and have a little competition.  They had to create a cheer, a poster, and play hard against the kids in their grade level.  We have house teams and they were competing in their house teams for points.  I taught my team the "Hawaiian Chant" from Camp.  It was amazing!  You can check out the video.  I think they did a pretty good job considering I only had a half hour to teach it to them.  We also didn't do the chants until the end of the day so some of them had forgotten a little bit, but it was still a good time.  It was a little insane when they asked all the Sukhumvit campus to leave to their buses and almost the entire gym became empty.  They have about 20 students in each class, but don't get the same ESL support we get so it is very intense.  After spending the day with that class, I'm a little glad I don't have them! ;-)

Thursday night I went to the park to play volleyball.  NIST had a week holiday and so we didn't play at the school.  It was fun to get out and play.  The Thais are fun to play with too.  I met an Australian guy who came out and was watching.  Eventually I told him to jump in and play if he wanted.  He knows some teachers at NIST and so he might come play this week there.

Friday, my students had to turn in and give Pet Rock speeches for science.  They did a good job making their pet rocks, although you can tell who made their own and who had a lot more parental involvement.  Their speeches were good, except none of them followed the prompt, but at least they were talking in complete sentences that flowed together huh?  Friday afternoon, I had a dentist appointment.  It went well.  I can just barely see the tip of my tooth that we are pulling down, which is very exciting.  I'm hoping by the wedding I'll have tooth!  After the dentist, I headed over to Debra's were we were having a Euchre party (card game).  There were about 8 of us there.  It was a fun night playing cards and power yahtzee.  We also had some great food too!

Saturday morning I was up early to catch a van with six others down to Hua Hin.  It is a beach town south of Bangkok.  It is typically known as a European tourist area, which there were plenty of.  It is also known for kite boarding, but the wind wasn't too good this weekend.  We had a great time just hanging out on the beach and with each other.  The seafood was amazing there and cheap too.  On Saturday night I got scallops and prawns.  The scallops were well seasoned and delicious.  The prawns were super sweet and huge too!  Jared got crab and Jessica got fried fish.  It was a much needed trip out of town and I had a lot of fun.

Now it is back to work...have painting tonight... and we have Chicago next Saturday!  Hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day and a great week!
