This morning we left Brussels without ever seeing a Brussel Sprout and continued to Antwerp where we again did a city tour. The name Antwerp derives from falling hand. Apparently, if you didn't pay your taxes they cut off your hand and threw it in the river! There is a large statue commemorating the man who cut off the giant's hand and stopped this practice.
Anyway, we did get to try Belgian Fries and they are good! they claim to have invented fries and the French refers to the method of cooking in oil. No great love lost for the French.
Then on to Delft and the ubiquitous town tour. There was also a demo of making Delftware but we opted for a leisurely lunch and some shopping.
We also saw part of the Hague including the Peace Palace and the eternal peace flame. We also saw the Prime Minister's (Nedtherlands) office and many landmarks.
We finally arrived at our ship in Amsterdam. Very nice, the food was good and the beds are comfortable.Sent from my iPad
