The last week of India was planned for relaxing. Anike and I selected a cosy little hotel at with beach access at one of the famous coastlines of Goa. We flew to Goa from Bangalore with the Indian equivalent of Ryanair called Air Deccan. Actually it was quite a good flight, no complaints at all.
The hotel in Goa was really stunning, only a few kilometers away from the city of Panjiim. But - there had to be a but - our good luck ran out on us. June is supposed to be the rain season and the start of the monsoon in India, which we were spared with until then, but once arriving in Goa it hit in with all its force. If it is rain season over there it means it rains once a day. Without stopping. Ok, it was something to experience monsoon for the first time in my life, but on the other hand Goa of course is meant as sun, beach, palm trees and ocean resort. Anyways, we sort of knew what was coming by all the warnings of our colleagues and were prepared for the rain. We still did a couple of day trips to Panjiim or famous beaches like Palolem Beach or Varca Beach, though the latter we could only imagine how picturesque the places would be if the sun was out. Still Goa was nice, a good opportunity to relax and recharge the batteries before flying back to Bangalore and finally to Frankfurt.
