A ferry took us from Bari to Dubrovnik overnight, which once again was much more pleasant than the overnight bus we had experienced before. Even when the ship entered the harbor of Dubrovnik we could tell that the city was going to be very beautiful and surely we were not disappointed.
Unfortunately this time our (very new) hotel was not in the center of the town, so we had to catch a local bus to the tourist attractions. That in itself was an experience, also because Croatia was the first place within our trip where I did not know a single word of the language. It did workout however. The bus took us to the old town of Dubrovnik, a beautiful place surrounded by old city walls and located directly at the ocean. Again we found narrow streets that wind up and down the incline of the town in squares, marbled floor everywhere and a very nice and relaxed overall impression of this beautiful town.
