Back to Portugal and back to Lisbon. This city is one of the places I was looking forward to most, since I kept Portugal's capital in a very good memory after my first visit. And also for the second time of visiting, Lisbon didn't fail to impress!
It seems that Lisbon still is one of the city's that is hardly ever mentioned in one sentence next to places like Paris, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam and the usual cities that attract people to Europe, in my humble opinion however Lisbon does not need to hide behind those names. On the contrary, Lisbon was and stays one of my favourite cities I have visited so far. The beautiful, old monuments of Belem, the majestic bridges over the Tejo with the Jesus monument in the background, the lovely Alfama with the windy small labyrinths and the azulejos on uncounted walls, the nightlife in Bairro Alto and just the flair of the open spaces, all this adds up to a nearly perfect complete picture. As expected, Lisbon was one of the highlights of our trip through Europe.
