Yesterday was another fine day in Munich, temperatures nice and comfortable in the mid 20's.

Jord and I decided to do a beer hall/garden tour of the city based on information we've read about (thanks Ash for the Lonely Planet guide to Germany) and things we've been told by people over the last few days.

We grabbed a map from the hostel and spent the day walking around the city, sampling different Munich beers, my favourite being Augustiner helles lager closely followed by the Hofbrauhaus wheat beer.

Just north of the city is a massive park called the English Garden. There are streams running from the main river near the park and there were hundreds of people playing soccer or lying by the water. On one of the streams there's a man made wave pool where people tried surfing which I got a video of.

There's a Chinese garden in the middle of the park, setup with a huge tv to watch the soccer with chairs, tables, food, and of course beer! There were these supermums who were there with their babies and were downing beers while watching the soccer and attending to their babies. It was pretty funny to watch. It seemed really casual and normal doing this and although they didn't seem drunk at all they were smashing beers at twice the rate we were, so we were glad we weren't going head to head.

We ended up going out last night, met some really awesome people again so today will be spent recovering before heading to Prague tomorrow. We're probably just going to relax and go to one of the parks and maybe do some shopping and re-take some of the dodgy photos I took yesterday.

Hope everyone is well at home...we're having an awesome time in a great city! :)

Yeah they were great. We'll be very disappointed after ordering beer when we get back to Melbourne. I ended up buying a 1L stein :)
