An early start to get through the narrows before other boats start moving. On our way for about 7am with Chris acting as look out on her bike. We got all the way back to where we had moored on Friday night without meeting anybody, a bloke who had left Llangollen well before us had managed to run aground just where we stopped to get Chris back on board and needed the help of the crew on a hire boat to get going again.

On reaching the junction at Trevor the same boat was moored right opposite the junction making the right turn very awkward. There was a boat coming over Pontcysylite so we had to wait and ended up going across in front of the other boat.

Stopped at Chirk marina for some diesel 78.8 litres at £81.76 on an 80 / 20 split. We then continued on to Chirk Bank back through the tunnel and aquaduct where we moored up next to a gaggle of noisy geese. Chris spent the afternoon resting her ankle whilst I did some jobs on the boat, painting etc and took a walk into Chirk village via a steep down hill and steep uphill. The village had a nice variety of shops and a visit to a Spar saw various items purchased.

There was no tv reception at Chirk Bank so at about 5pm we moved on to a lovely open mooring just above New Marton top lock. The field next to our mooring having well over 100
Frisian cows in it.

We have booked our passage onto the Montromery for Wednesday so will be having a short day tomorrow.

11.5 miles no locks.
