Where I stayed
Just outside, Campground
Camped in a rural setting just short of Lubeck. We are taking side roads which costs time but gains relaxation and nice delights. Lubeck in the morning... we parked and biked around the town for a couple of hours. There are many 16th and 17th C churches, houses and cloisters in the town which is a Unesco Heritage site. We picked up some mileage in the afternoon, and camped in a lakeside campsite near Malchin.
The van continues to serve us well, Mileage is just over 10 litres per 100 kms which ain't bad at all for a camper van. Prices getting cheaper.... campsites now in the $15 range compared to up to $30 around Amsterdam.
East Germany is recognizably poorer still, and more laid back than the west. Lots of older folks lazing around. At a small coffee shop most of the men were having a beer at 10:30am.
Lots of poppies in the fields and also huge wind turbine farms in all of northern europe. I counted 100 at one particular spot where I could see the near and distant turbines.
