We visited Cristina at the Biblioteca infantil--kids afterschool program--(and so much more) in December 2009, one of the few times I crossed the border into Mexico my last time on the border in '09-'10.

I was struck by how the world is so different, so quickly!

When I walk down the dust-covered streets of Anapra, I sneak side-long glances around me to try to observe what I can without looking like a gawker.

The homes are constructed in some cases of cardboard covered shipping pallets.

We gringos look out of place as we nonchallantly walk down the middle of the street.
