We spent a most meaningful Easter weekend working at the soup kitchen in Palomas. A special treat was having Catholic Worker visitors from Luck, WI, John and Bonnie, visit and help.

Another treat was having Annunciation House co-worker Renee and her sister Janelle join us, too. They brought along their musical instruments and treated us all to a concert. I didn't think to record it until last thing that evening, so altho I'll post it, by that time we were all tired--so the clip of their music is only a shadow of the beauty they shared with their lovely lilting voices in harmony on the Spanish and English lyrics to the accompaniment of their violin and guitar.

The folks in Palomas lingered and enjoyed the music. Easter was so special. Although we suspected it'd be a bit slow, we were surprised that we fed 50 people that day. The folks are desperate for clothing, food, any assistance we can bring them.

Polly and Peter in Deming invited the whole gang of us volunteers up for a great dinner: turkey and all kinds of special food, including Helena's fresh greens from the coldframe. We enjoyed sights of the town on a walk. What a great day!
