Thought I'd depart from my soapbox and tell you about the great buffet at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino. It's just a quick 15 minute drive from our apartment, across the stateline in New Mexico. Lutheran Border Ministry's Pastor Bill had told us about it; he's a busy guy we've tried to connect with since early on in our journey to TX. Well, he unexpectedly phoned us up to say he was in town and invite us to dinner with his wife Ann and "some others" in his little delegation.
Paul was under the weather, so I was alone in my suprise to meet the group there and find that the "some others" meant our Eagle Pass, TX friends Hector and Myrta--who were vacationing for a few days in El Paso. It was great to see them again!!
And the buffet was so reasonable for the great food! If you've visiting El Paso, you can't beat this deal: right at the foot of the famous Cristo Rey Mountain.
