Jim's a Catholic Worker veteran of a handful of years, giving shelter to homeless families and dinner to whoever shows up at the door. He gave us some of his time and a tour of the operation this Saturday morning, while a group of Confirmation student/volunteers cleaned up the next-door construction site of the future new San Antonio Catholic Worker quarters. Hailing from central Illinois, Jim encouraged us when he said: "you can't go wrong no matter where you land in Southern Texas."
A Mennonite, Jim continues to uphold my mantra: "I've never met a Mennonite I didn't really like."
"When Jesus said "Love your enemies" I think he probably meant not to kill them." (Bumper sticker on CW car)

Also, Jim led us to Texans for Peace--good to know if we're going to be winter Texans!
