On Sunday, we visited the area around the Red Sea including the Beit Shean ruins (very old city), a Roman gladitorial arena that was not discovered the last time we were in Israel, En Gedi (the wadis where David hid from King Saul), Qumran (where the Dead Sea scrolls where found), and the Las Vegas of Israel known as Eilat.  Our hotel is so close to the border that Bill literally ran to Egypt and back.  Tomorrow we head to Petra in the country of Jordan.

nice picture, I was in a 2 star hotel in July, with no AC, so my memories of the place are not to great
