Did you know, that WAAAY back in the late 18th Century Captain James Cook (and his cronies) past by Cairns and didn't settle there because they ACTUALLy believed it was too harsh with dense rainforests, dangerous reefs, creepy crawlies etc etc!
Well! I'm sure that had he too gone to Cairns he would've patted himself back for finding what could just be one of the sexiest places on earth. The winners trophy went to Sir William Wellington Cairns (WINNERRRRS) who found it (and obviously claimed it) in 1876 then went on to support gold digging, mining for precious metals, minerals and trade.
Well yours truly is there now. And may I say Melbourne plain sucked! Ok, the Melbourne Cup was fantastic its true (Melbourne stops everything for a four day Horse Racing programme that has some of the richest and snobbiest people in Victoria and New South Wales going to it). But I personally rate Cairns a big favourite out of the last 3 cities I've visited here in Oz. Allow me to explain...
I arrived yesterday on a 3 hour flight out of Melbourne to be whisked off to my hostel in Cairns city. Then I find that I've accidentally checked myself into a room with 5 girls (one Australian, two Swedish and two Chinese). Oh its a hard life.
I then find out that I have fortuitously organised my visit to last two weeks and have enough cash and time to cover Bungee jumping, 14,000 ft skydiving, a certified PADI (diving) course on the barrier reef, White water rafting and Sailing over the course of the next 14 days! BEAT THAT COOK!
Well strap yourselves in cause this is what its all about. The weather is an impressive 30oC, I've got about 6 excursions to plough through before I get to Sydney on Sunday 19th November. I'll try and get as many piccies online as possible.
SO LONG SUCKERS!!

Hello darling Big Jim! you were never Big Jim when I knew you... not even in those dinky nappies!!
Know any dirty jokes cos you know how much I like them, me and you have shared many hours trying to outdo each other over the worst ones. Do you remember
fireworks night when you were about 2 and you sat all night at the display in Chigwell with your bobble hat over your face...well I do! Or, do you remember swimming in Clacton with those dear little 'He Man' trunks - oh so cute!! How about the christmas days we spent together, crying at sad films into your Dad's boxer shorts. Remember your Holy Communion day..well, why wasn't I invited? Bet you didn't want me to see you in your little dickie, just
to let you know I have seen the photos though! Are you still beefing it up..with the body weights that is!
As it said on your bobble hat that memorable night..
BE SAFE, BE SEEN! That's my advice to you now, keep enjoying yourself cos I'll be watching you!
Lots of love and kisses like man xxxxxx
