"Ah you know what old Jack Burton always says at a time like this. Old Jack always says... what the hell".

Haha love that film! Hi all, I'm finally in Hong Kong rubbing shoulders with.. Wait stop. That's not strictly true. They rub their shoulders against my thighs (cause I literally clear most of these guys by a clean meter)! Yep, this place is more crowded than a Hugh Heffner party that's just brought out a new line of Pyjama's and tickets go half price!

ITS RAMMED (7 million approx)! And secondly, the kit here is sooooo cheap. For example, one can buy a full meal of oaf sized noodles and chicken for $30 (that's a smidgen over 2). Quaff that and you're done for a full day. Also, Samuri swords clear off the shelves at a mere 60, Sony PSP's 70 etc etc. You get the idea.

Anyway, yesterday I flew in from Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport at around 7 a.m. I spent the entire trip sat next to a whinging miserable Australian bloke who complained about every single thing possible. All Asians on the plane were called 'Gooks', and he happily picked off the english monarchy, the inflight video's, the flight, England, himself, er Australian Rugby, Life, the Algian Marbles... EVERYTHING!! Imagine beeing sat next to that for 11 hours eh?! Christ how depressing - hehe. But despair not, he was butt ugly and probably hadn't had a shag in years!

So! Where were we. Ah yeah, HK. Well I'm in a groovy little hostel slap-bang in Mong Kok (steady) and its full of tacky side cafe's, big neon lights and more chinese food than you can chomp. Markets sell really dodgy kit, and others are just plain cheap.

I felt a bit guilty earlier today as I asked a PC attendant to show me an Apple Laptop. He got one out of the box, set it up in UK format, configured windows, typed in my name and then to his dismay I told him "I'm just er, looking mate". His face was a picture! No really, I thought he was gonna cry (or hit me). I really did! It was the same look like someone had just run over his dog.

I felt sorry for the poor chap, but lets face facts - a brand new Apple laptop for a tiny 730 is still more than yours truly can afford these days. Bargain indeed, but I had to let him down gently and beat a hasty retreat.

What else. Oh yeah. I'm writing in a smart web cafe in Hong Kong Central (on Hong Kong Island). Its quality here with very modern and colourful sky scrapers. Definately the rich part of HK. I've found a gym here that I'm gonna be using tomorrow (groovy) as well as donning a new funky haircut from Toni & Gay.

I also found a pier by the harbour and decided to spend a penny. THEN, I heard typhoon sirens going off outside! What a way to go I thought. "Caught short having a jobbie by a giant wave - there's no dignity in that AT ALL". So yeah, typhoon warning 1 over here. Nice.

Enough toilet humour. My grandparents read this apparently. Hi to P&G.

Will post piccies soon.

Jim.

Man made Typhoon
Hi Tom,

Yes no doubt, eat any more noodles from these guys and it will be on typhoon warning 10! I couldn't believe my hostel security guard who was watching TV. I said to him - 'oh check it out, what does that little T1 in the top right hand corner of the screen mean??'

He laughed and said - 'oh HAHA, typhoon HAHA! Very small'. hmmmmmmmm

Re: Hey dude
Hi Shaun,

Handy stuff if your friends dad lives over here. Hong Kong Island is beautifull however is sadly full of American's and English businessmen. Hey ho. Not many folks like you and me hanging around the gaff.

Just remember one thing out here mate. These guys walk REALLY REALLY REALLY slow! Like, tortoises would speed past the buggers... Irritating like a Hong Kong watch. Patience is the key, as well as giving them a prod up the arse with your brolly! Always a good trick to get a move on.

Is the food in HK as good as a KAM SPECIAL??!!
Hi Jamesie!

Just thinking of you walking head & shoulders above everyone else [however crammed the streets are!] enjoying noodles!!At least you can't accuse the locals of spoiling your view! Apparently Kam [who comes from HK] says to try out Disney [ he gives it a 5 star rating!] as he was out there in April and it's Grrreat!Mind those hurricanes! Take care, lots of love, Me & the cat XXXX
