I got a large A4 brown envelope from the WCT today in the post. What did it contain? There was a letter from Major General Jamie Balfour (hereafter known as JB) and some documentation. You know, I am so impressed at the contact the WCT has with me. Even from the outset, communication has been first class and the letters always have my name hand written as do the envelopes. that's a really nice touch.
Anyway, back to the contents of the envelope.
There was a great guide contained which tells me about managing my fellowship. This covers what to do, how to do it and how to keep in touch with the trust. It's really easy to read and covers all those nagging questions I had in the back of my mind.
There is also a form to complete to get my very own WCT business cards. How professional will I look handing these out to my contacts when I travel? Another great idea. Plus their travel insurance documents are in here too.
There is a list of all the WCT fellowship fellows with contact details for each. I see that there are 5 from the North East that have been successful this year including myself. I must get in contact with them and see how their plans are coming along - maybe even a joint local news brief for 'Look North'. Hmm... that has potential and can raise the profile of the trust. This document also covers the ages and ocupations of the fellows. The youngest is 17 and the most senior is 78. The trust really do live up to the statement on the website that age, occupation and educational background really are not a barrier to success in optaining a fellowship.
There is also a press release document that will help out no end when talking to the media.

Hazels' Pledge: To raise the profile of the WCT as much as possible in the North East and on my travels.
