Alcatraz was brilliant - cannot believe anyone escaped from there. Cells were vey small, and dark. Oliver did not want to stay behind for an overnight stay.
We stayed right on the bay front in SF and enjoyed the views, the lively feel about the place and even managed a proper brunch - the full American experience. Plus more ice cream and a little shopping.....!
[D - Drove down to Monterey through Silicon Valley past Google and Apple birthplaces. Stopped at Apple HQ store for which Nikki thought I was a sad geek (some truth there). It was shut as it was a Sunday but Millie and Oliver wanted to come back when it was open on Monday, much to Nikki's disgust, but made me smile.]
