Tasting the Russian River

(R family and M family on holiday together).
We are staying in a place by Clearlake, but it is not clear at all [and a bit stinky really] ! We are with our friends Ben and Tom, Simon and Sue. There is a pool where we swim, and a good tree for climbing.
We went out on a boat which was pretty cool. We set sail into the lake and then went for a swim (it was clear in the middle!). And then another swim. The kids all jumped off the boat. At the end everyone jumped off together and dad got a great photo.
The next day we went canoeing down the Russian River ( note from parents - a great wine area). We had 3 kayaks, and 1 capsized immediately ( dad and susa in charge!). We had a picnic on the riverside and jumped off lots of rocks and swam in the river. It was pretty hard to paddle as sometimes it was really shallow but we had a great time.
On the way back, Simon's got us rather lost and blamed his GPS but we made it home eventually.

( Note from parents- we did our best to try several different local wines and found we liked them all! The wineries are wonderful and would highly recommend a holiday in this area. Loved having family Morris with us this week. We even got a grown up night out which was very jolly!!)
