We arrived in Las Vegas @ a huge hotel called Mandalay Bay, it was pretty much the size of Sheen!!! HaRVey the RV got dumped in the car park.

It took us about 30 minutes just to get to the pool.

Talking of the pool – one of the seven pools was a wave pool. A large wave came every 2 minutes and you could surf it into the shore. There was a beach right next to this pool – despite the fact we were 100's of miles from the sea!

There was also a lazy river that had a current that pulled you along, and there were 2 waterfalls that you went through and got very very wet. We bought a huge rubber ring, which was blue and we named it Jupiter, to sit in to go round this. We spent most of the day in this.

We did not even get to the other 5 pools!

We explored Las Vegas in the evening when it was slightly cooler – there was the Pyramid hotel next door with lots of video arcades in it. The next night we watched a volcano show and water show, they were both FANTASTIC!!!

(Note from N & D- LV is rather strange, packed with people only here to gamble – which you can do 24 hours a day even by the pools in your swim suits! Never seen so many casinos ever. Dan tried to win big to pay for trip but……)
[If you ever wondered where one hit wonders or past it bands go to grass, it seems Las Vegas is the place - Weird Al Yankovic, Kenny Loggins (Footloose?), Matt Goss of Bros (he must be at least 19 by now ) and Blondie to mention a few. Failed to win enough to take a helicopter for the rest of the trip, so back to the RV, but at least didnt lose so much that I had to sell Nikki for a couple of camels. Also had to stop her going to the Thunder from Down Under show, which Oliver asked "Mummy why do all those men have their shirts off" - D]

Hello All.
Well, can't say that the sound of a lazy river or wave pool is in the least bit appealing when you're stuck in the middle of the coldest winter snap for 80 years in Auckland. No, not at all. .... grrrrrrrrrrr!
What I'm most impressed by however is how well you write this blog Milly & Oliver. I think I might have to sent the little bump over to boarding school in England, coz I'm sure neither Max nor Soph could write as much or as well! Or is mummy marking your entries with a big red marker pen and giving you detention when you get things wrong?
Must surely be time to come home now isn't it? You've been away a ridiculous amount of time and the general shade of green I go when ever I read these is getting quite hard to match my clothes to.

Ah - a note to mum & dad: I should mention that you can start saving as soon as you get home btw... NZ wedding not till Jan 2013 now!! Ha - nothing like a long engagement. Just can't get anything sorted before then (nor even start to pay for anything.... it's a rather expensive bump I"m carrying!) and can't be bothered to try and enjoy a wedding when I have a newborn keeping me awake all night - not to mention the fact that I wouldn't be able to drink, which would be quite unthinkable at ones own wedding. So we're looking into it all now and looking at locking in a date soon...
Oh- or the other possibility is that we skip NZ - have a small little thing in France in summer next year and come back here and have a party. I think I know which you'd be more likely to vote for!

Anyway keep having lots of fun. And look forward to the next update.
Love Soph x
