When we arrived at Zion National Park we went straight into the pool as there was a great one there which had some rock slides. The next day Dad and I went canyoneering. It was really scary because we had to go down a canyon on a rope and we went through a water fall. We got soaked. The canyon was 150 feet deep that we went down rappelling / abseiling.
( Note from Dad - Oliver was the youngest on trip, and very confident and amusing on way out to canyon, but did go silent - for the first time in his life - as we got to the top. he did say afterwards it had been terrifying!)

We were staying at a great campsite just on the edge of ZIon National Park. It was more like an activity centre and we managed to fit in swimming, riding, swimming, climbing wall, swimming, bungee trampolene, swimming and zip wires! Plus the canyoneering. We also had some great weather here, either hot and sunny or again thunderstorms. Again some impressive lightening was seen against the stunning mountain scenery.
And we managed to find time to visit ZIon National PArk itself.
This was another canyon, this time we were at the bottom ( very very hot) looking up at amazing cliffs of rock in more fantastic formations. We had a walk up to a waterfall, which you could walk behind and then up to some pools where the stream started. This was hard work in the heat with no shade most of the way.
More junior ranger badges were achieved at this park.
