The day finally came where we had to give our loving Harvey back to join all his friends and family at the Cruise America drop off. We had done 1543 miles and travelled through some great parts of the USA and were all sad to wave goodbye to him as we drove across the bridge into San Francisco.

San Francisco
What a city- we all loved it.
Managed to cram in a lot in two short stays.
Steepest hills in a city we have ever visited, loved the trams for getting about ( although quite nerve wrecking as they pass so close to each other and the brakes creak so much that they  feel like they will fail on steep hills!).
Golden Gate bridge is impressive- we cycled over it and spotted seals and dolphins in the bay below. ( Us, along with many other tourists and a heavy wind made this a more tricky cycle than expected. Needed long lunch and cocktail in next bay to recover says Mum! Then needed to get ferry home rather than cycle back!)

My favourite thing was the  bike ride by Oliver

[D - Picked up our next transport, a KIA SUV in a fetching orange / tan colour. Not as appealing as Harvey or our previous SUV and a big case of car envy when the Morris' breeze up to meet us in a super cool convertible Mustang with a small rucksack in the boot. Fortunately although they had the looks (the car, not Simon), our boring V8 was far too fast for them at our various drag races at the lights - honestly Simon you should grow up.]
