Jacqui and I got back home only one hour late from when we were scheduled.  Not too bad for flying literally half way around the world.  On Sunday, it was beautiful in Sydney, Los Angeles, and New York City....everywhere we touched ground.  The only reason we were late was because there were three flights touching down at LAX from Australia within 30 minutes of each other.  And passengers from each plane were being consolidated onto the flight from LAX to JFK.  There were two flights from Sydney and one from Melbourne...so we had to wait for everyone to clear through customs/immigration, baggage claim, and security.

On Monday I sold the MazdaSpeed6.  I had put it into AutoTrader and only gotten 2 phone calls about it in over a month, both by scammers.  So we drove to Connecticut to a CarMax.  They'll buy a car from you for close to Kelly Blue Book trade-in without you purchasing a car from them.  I only recommend doing this if you don't have the time to sell it yourself through the newspapers.  Unfortunately, I fall into that category.  I only have a few days that I'm guaranteed to be home, and then its up in the air.  So if the car didn't sell in the timespan, I'm SOL.  So I sold the car for $3-$4k less than I could have gotten selling it private party.  But there was a slim chance of that happening with my travel schedule.

Other than that, we've been running errands and getting new bank accounts sorted out.  We're moving everything to Century Bank Direct, which is a real bank in Kentucky that decided to run a lot of business through the internet that I highly recommend.  The checking account gives you 3.35% APY, savings gives you 3.41%, and the money market gives you 3.57%.  I like the checking account because it has no minimum balance requirements, ATM fee reimbursement (6/mo) and you can do everything online except deposit checks.  And if you do receive a check, you can mail it to them in pre-paid envelopes.

I'm gonna be really busy the next few days, gotta go into the office for some meetings and stuff.  I think we're going to northern Quebec on Sunday though, so check back for another update this weekend.
